PaperAct in the Cloud
There is nothing like PaperAct …Unlike traditional PC connected to scanners which require your PC to be operating, scanner to be on, scanner software to be loaded and a fairly manually intensive process the EFC is simple and quick to operate and single or multiple pages are scanned, OCR’d (optical character recognition), PDF’d, indexed and saved at the push of a button.
PaperAct differ itself from the like of dropbox and Evernote.
At a very simplistic level:
Evernote is about capturing notes, ideas, ‘things’. it requires installing software on pc’s , mc’s, tablets, phones.
DropBox is about sychronising, accessing you documents from different devices and sharing with others. It also requires software to be installed.
We believe that this sort of ‘sychronisation’ as opposed to ‘your documents in the cloud’ is ‘old-world-thinking’ and not a ‘true cloud solution’. It might be very valid now, but once people are more educated and comfortable with the ‘cloud’ and NBN will offer connectivity then why would you want to sync documents across devices ?!?
What is PaperAct EFC? what are we trying to achieve?
We all have important documents. we call them silos of information. What are they? Paper documents, Emails, Email attachments being buried in mail systems, electronic files, documents captured using mobile phones and maybe faxes.
What PaperAct does is consolidating your online (electronic documents) and offline filing systems (paper), to incorporate everything from your paper documents to your important emails, attachments and faxes, securely filing all your documents in the cloud so you never have to waste time or money searching through filing cabinets again.

So, as opposed to the other two solutions. there is NO SOFTWARE TO INSTALL. The only software to install is to capture documents using your smartphone camera (android, iphone/ios and webos).
